Fontodi Estate Makes its Boston Area Premiere

At Tomasso Trattoria Wine Dinner Wine Maker, Giovanni Manetti as Host

Southborough, MA --  Giovanni Manetti, owner of the legendary Fontodi Estate located in the heart of the Chianti Region of Tuscany will be visiting the Boston area for the first time with his world renowned wines on April 30, 2007 at a 5 course Tuscan  wine dinner at  Tomasso Trattoria & Enoteca in Southborough, MA.  Located just a half hour's drive from Boston and Worcester, Tomasso Trattoria began hosting wine makers at its wine events since opening over two years ago.  Chef Tony Bettencourt's menu will be accompanied by Fontodi's Chianti Classico,  a vertical of Chianti Classico Riserva "Sorbo", Fontodi Syrah, a vertical of Flaccianello (Super Tuscan), and finally Vin Santo.   The cost is $125 per person plus tax and gratuity and the dinner will begin at 7PM.  Space is limited so reserve early by calling 508 481 8484.

Guests will be entertained by this illustrious wine maker and his wines that originate from vines cultivated on the estate in Panzano since the time of the Roman Empire.  Panzano is also the name of Tomasso's retail food and wine store located just a few doors down in the same plaza. The store, Panzano Provviste e Vino will have a special offering on the Fontodi wines in conjunction with the dinner. The Fontodi Event Diners will be able to take part in additional savings on these rare wines through Panzano Provviste e Vino

The Manetti family has many centuries of history in Chianti, although not directly with viticulture. For three hundred years this family has been renowned for the manufacture of terracotta, and it was not until 1968 that the family decided to move into wine, with the purchase of Fontodi.
